Humanities Teacher – SEMH/SEBD Specialist Secondary School – Manchester
Location: North Manchester

Your New Job
Hays Education is working on behalf of a specialist secondary school in North Manchester to recruit a passionate and resilient Humanities Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This role is suitable for teachers with experience in History, Geography, RE, or a combination of humanities subjects, and is open to both full-time and part-time applicants.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, many of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require a trauma-informed, nurturing approach. The role involves working closely with a skilled team of support staff and therapists to create a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment.

This specialist SEMH/SEBD secondary school caters to pupils aged 10 to 16 who have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream settings. What You'll Need to Succeed
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4
  • A strong understanding of SEMH/SEBD needs and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
