Your new company
This opportunity sits within a large Higher Education institution delivering a significant workforce and performance change programme focused on academic departments. The organisation is investing in additional HR capacity to ensure this programme is delivered in a structured, compliant and well‑communicated way.
Your new role
As HR Workforce Change Programme Officer, you will provide the operational, governance and coordination support that underpins a complex ER‑led change programme. This is very much an HR role, working alongside senior HR leaders and academic stakeholders, rather than a generalist project or communications position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of an ER‑focused workforce change programme within a Higher Education environment.
- Coordinating meetings, actions and governance across HR, academic leaders and senior stakeholders.
- Preparing and managing HR documentation, including briefing papers, consultation materials and programme packs.
- Drafting presentations and communications for senior and academic audiences.
- Managing SharePoint and document control to ensure accurate versioning of sensitive HR material.
- Liaising with HR colleagues, legal advisers and union representatives to support compliant and consistent messaging.
- Tracking programme activity, timelines and dependencies to keep delivery on course.
What you’ll need to succeed
- An HR background with experience in Higher Education.
- Exposure to ER, consultation or workforce change activity in an academic setting.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence producing high‑quality written materials for senior and academic stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated and unionised environment.
- Professional discretion and comfort handling sensitive information.
What you’ll get in return
- A varied, high‑profile HR role supporting a significant Higher Education change programme.
- Exposure to senior HR leaders, academic Heads of Department and executive stakeholders.
- Clear scope, strong leadership sponsorship and defined delivery timeframes.
- Hybrid working and a supportive, well‑structured environment.
- The opportunity to develop deep experience in complex ER and workforce change.
If you are an HR professional with Higher Education experience looking to step into a meaningful ER support role, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
