Interim HR Officer 11 Month FTC

Your new company

Hays HR is delighted to be supporting one of their clients on the search for an HR Officer to cover a maternity period; located south of the water in Middlesbrough for 11 months. You will report into the HR Manager and work alongside another HR Officer within the HR function, overseeing one site within the organisation. This is a large organisation with multiple sites across the North East region, but you will be joining a fabulous HR team!


Your new role

Within your new position you will provide support and guidance across the organisation ensuring best HR working practices are in place. You will work closely with the wider HR team; HR Manager & HR Officer, to ensure all day to day HR activities are achieved with high quality HR support.


Responsibilities include:

  • Provide efficient and proactive HR support service

  • Supporting managers on employment issues and helping them to resolve them in a timely manner

  • Providing HR support in formal HR meetings and employee relations

  • Involved in monitoring and managing absence management (Monitoring, analysing and reporting on staff sickness)

  • Involved within the full recruitment lifecycle (Advertising, right to work checks, interviews)

  • Supporting with onboarding of new employees

  • Ensure HR files are updated and maintained

  • Sharing changes on employee records to payroll


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful on selection for this role, you must have experience working in an HR position previously, supporting you on all HR activities (HR Coordinator / HR Officer). You will have eligibility to work in the UK.


What you'll get in return

This role will require you to be based on site with 1 day working from home (free on-site parking).
Competitive salary
25 days + bank holidays (pro rata for the duration)
