Permanent HR Officer opportunity with a manufacturing business. Good career development & early finish Friday!
Your new company
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded manufacturer with a significant presence in Northern Ireland. Operating in a fast-paced, standards-driven environment, they place real value on their people and on building a professional, supportive HR function. This is a business where HR is hands-on, visible, and central to how the organisation runs day to day.
Your new role
As HR Officer, you will assist in the provision of the full range of HR duties across all departments, delivering a quality, consistent HR service. Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll act as a key point of contact for employees and managers, coordinate recruitment from shortlisting through to chairing interview panels and issuing documentation, and handle low-level employee relations and absence investigations while coaching line managers. You'll maintain HR systems and databases to produce management reports, prepare contractual correspondence, support health, wellbeing and CSR initiatives, and contribute to HR projects and community outreach activities such as careers talks and school and university engagement.
What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum of two years' experience in a generalist HR role (HR Officer, HR Advisor or HR Generalist)
- Previous experience dealing with employee relations matters and providing coaching support to line managers and staff
- A CIPD qualification and/or a relevant third-level qualification or degree in Human Resources
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, with strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical, planning and organising skills, a strong customer focus, and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
What you'll get in return
You'll receive a salary of £32,000 – £35,000 (with flexibility for candidates who bring significant relevant experience) in a permanent, full-time position. You'll gain genuine breadth of HR experience across every strand of the function within a busy manufacturing environment, giving you real scope to develop your HR career. The role is on-site with an early Friday finish (Mon–Thu 08:00–16:30, Fri 08:00–14:00).
