A varied role for an HR & H&S Coordinator to join a successful SME in Ferndown (Engineering).
Your new company
My client is a successful SME within the engineering sector who have been established for many years, based in Ferndown (Dorset). Part of an international group, this opportunity offers autonomous working and the chance to join a close-knit local team with a positive culture, whilst also providing the security of a larger organisation.
Your new role
You will report to a dynamic, supportive HR Manager who I have worked with before and who thrives on developing colleagues across the company. You will enjoy a varied, interesting dual role as an HR & Health & Safety (H&S) Coordinator based in their Ferndown Head Office, with occasional travel to another local site in Dorset.
As the HR & H&S Coordinator, you will provide vital administrative and coordination support across both HR and H&S functions. This dual role supports the HR Manager in ensuring compliant, efficient, and employee-focused practices across the full employee lifecycle and safety management. This position is very important to the business as they want to ensure a happy and engaged team whose safety and wellbeing are a priority at all times.Working hours: 38 / week, Monday-Friday: 7.30am-4pm or 8am-4.30pm, Monday-Thursday (preferred, but 8.30am-5pm considered too) and 7.30am-1.30pm and an early finish every Friday. This is a site-based role due to the industry, but flexible start / finish times as above, and flexitime is also offered where you can accrue up to 8 hours (1 day) / month to take when you like.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience as an HR / People Administrator, Assistant or similar who either has some experience of supporting Health & Safety processes, or has a willingness / interest in taking on such responsibilities as part of a varied dual role. A CIPD qualification will be an advantage, but experience in a role as above will be considered. A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification in Health & Safety is desirable but not essential.
This role requires a highly organised, efficient person with a positive attitude and approach who can absorb new information, work independently as required (but with support from the on-site HR Manager) and who can turn their hand to anything, happy to take on different responsibilities as required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel in particular is important too. What you'll get in return
An interesting and varied role in a successful business with great potential to grow, supported by an ambitious, intelligent HR Manager who has the enthusiasm to develop colleagues.
You will receive a market-leading salary that reflects the HR Manager's appreciation that this is a unique dual role and site-based in Dorset. Benefits include: free on-site parking available at both locations, pension at 2% employee vs 6% employer contribution, 25 days holiday +BH's, BUPA cashplan and cycle-to-work scheme. What you need to do now
