HR Generalist permanent opportunity based in Guildford, up to 40k

HR Generalist | Guildford | Permanent | £35,000–£40,000

I’m currently partnering with a growing organisation in Guildford to recruit a HR Generalist. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to deepen their HR experience within HR Advisory while continuing to manage essential HR administration. The role sits within a small, collaborative HR team, so we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working in a non-hierarchical environment and happy to get involved across all levels of HR activity.

About the Organisation

This is a people-focused business with a strong culture and a commitment to doing things well. The HR function is evolving, and this role offers genuine scope to contribute meaningfully to both advisory and operational HR delivery. The position is fully office-based, as the organisation thrives on in-person collaboration to foster a positive working atmosphere and uphold its values-driven culture. The Guildford office is a stunning, welcoming space with free onsite parking and a team that values connection, communication, and shared purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries across the business
  • Provide clear, practical advice to managers on employee relations and policy matters
  • Manage HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and performance reviews
  • Prepare contracts and maintain accurate HR documentation
  • Deliver engaging inductions and support visa/right-to-work checks
  • Monitor absence and holiday data, identifying trends and supporting action
  • Liaise with external HR providers when needed
  • Support day-to-day HR administration with accuracy and efficiency

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • CIPD qualified or currently working toward it
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and HR systems

What’s on Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Clear progression opportunities, particularly in HR advisory
  • A collaborative, inclusive team culture
  • A role with variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact
