Location: London | Salary: £51,753 – £61,759 per annum | Contract: 12-month fixed term | Grade: 7

The Opportunity
A prestigious UK university is undergoing a major transformation following a recent merger. The HR function is central to this process, driving strategic initiatives that will shape the future of professional services and create a modern, collaborative workplace.

The Role
As HR Change Manager, you will lead the people aspects of a large-scale change programme, focusing on the integration of Professional Services Directorates. Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and delivering HR-led change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Leading employee consultation processes, ensuring transparency and compliance with employment law.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to develop change proposals, manage risks, and maintain staff wellbeing.
  • Acting as the key HR liaison for trade union engagement and collective consultations.
  • Providing expert guidance on employee relations, redundancy, redeployment, and organisational restructuring.
This is a strategic leadership role where you will make a lasting impact during a period of transformation.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in employee relations, change management, and project delivery within complex or unionised environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, particularly in restructures and mergers.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • High levels of organisation, resilience, and problem-solving ability to navigate sensitive and challenging situations.
Experience in the Higher Education sector is desirable but not essential.
