Exciting HR Business Partner job in Norwich

Are you a commercially astute HR Business Partner looking to join an iconic brand and play a pivotal role in shaping a people-first culture?

KLM UK Engineering, based in Norwich, is seeking a solutions-driven and experienced HR Business Partner to join its evolving HR team. As a market leader in airframe base maintenance, line maintenance, and technical training, the company takes pride in its skilled and passionate workforce and is committed to delivering safe, innovative services to a global customer base.

This newly created role supports the organisation’s journey towards a more strategic HR function. Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Business Partner will have an influential role in helping the business save time, strengthen leadership capability, and drive commercial value through proactive people practices.

What to expect
You’ll join a collaborative and high-impact HR team known for fostering authenticity, trust and accountability. As the first point of contact for employee relations casework, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and informal resolution, you’ll role model best practice, coach managers and build trust-based relationships that support a shift towards proactive, capability-led conversations.

You’ll also contribute to policy design and implementation, ensure compliance with employment legislation, oversee the Occupational Health contract, lead on GDPR policy, and support wider HR projects. Longer-term, you’ll be involved in succession planning, systems projects, leadership development, and organisational design, with the freedom to soft-launch initiatives that support cultural development and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring
This is a fast-paced role with multiple priorities, so you’ll need to be highly organised, decisive, and confident in navigating complex and often sensitive situations. You’ll be MCIPD qualified or bring equivalent experience, with a strong generalist HR background and a particular passion for employee relations. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the gravitas to influence and guide managers are essential. Experience in mediation, coaching, or working within a unionised or regulated environment would be advantageous.

What's on offer
A relationship-driven organisation, KLM UK Engineering offers more than just a job, they’re committed to creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and part of a team that genuinely cares. The package includes enhanced sick pay and holiday benefits, stakeholder pension, wellbeing support, retailer discounts, free on-site parking, and more. They also promote greener commuting through their Cycle to Work and EV Car schemes and encourage connection and fun through an active social club and regular events!

While the role is primarily based on-site at the Norwich facility, the team embraces flexible working and maintains an outcome-focussed approach. Candidates seeking either full-time hours or a four-day working week (0.8 FTE) are welcome.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate HR professional who wants to make a meaningful impact in a business that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and a powerful sense of belonging.
