Strategic HR Business Partner job in Essex with agile working.
Your new company
Hays is partnering with a high-profile organisation based in Essex in their search for a strategic HR Business Partner. The organisation is known for its integrity and dedication, standing out for its thoughtful approach and strong values. With a reputation built on trust and consistency, it continues to have a meaningful impact across the communities it serves.
Following an internal promotion, this is a genuine HR business partnering role, working closely with key business areas to deliver practical, people-focused solutions. You will be part of a collaborative team of HR Business Partners, supporting around 500 employees across two main offices in Essex. Agile working is encouraged, with most colleagues spending two days a week on site.
You will bring strong HR expertise, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and a blend of strategic and operational experience to support organisational change. They are very much customer-centric in their thinking. Your analytical mindset and collaborative approach will be key in driving initiatives such as leadership development, succession planning and strategic workforce planning. This forms part of a wider ambition to challenge the status quo, use data-driven insights to shape performance indicators and foster a high-performance culture.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading business change programmes, including TUPE transfers, and supporting complex employee relations matters. You’ll bring up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice, and EDI, alongside experience in job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and reward systems. Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to coach and influence senior stakeholders. Chartered MCIPD or equivalent level of experience is required.
What you'll get in return
The culture is open, inclusive, and genuinely caring, where diversity is celebrated. The benefits package includes an annual wellbeing grant (subject to eligibility), 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, enhanced family leave, healthcare cash plan and life assurance and a generous pension.
