Part-time HR Business Analyst/£400 per day

The HR Business Analyst will support the documentation of HR business processes during the implementation of a new HR Information System (HRIS). The role focuses on mapping processes across the employee lifecycle where system automation will not fully cover end‑to‑end activity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review the system configuration workbooks and business process library to identify processes not automated in the system and create robust offline workflows and SOPs.
  • Develop process maps, SOPs, RACI charts, handoff diagrams, and end-to-end workflow documentation.
  • Lead global and regional workshops with HR SMEs to document and validate future‑state processes
  • Engage HR Operations, Recruitment, Talent, L&D, Reward, Payroll, and ER to gather requirements.
  • Capture requirements related to automated, partially automated, and manual HR activities.
  • Perform detailed gap analysis between identified future-state processes and HRIS capability.
  • Define business rules, data requirements, approval flows, and controls for offline processes.
  • Translate business process outputs into clear requirements for configuration teams.
  • Provide input into the creation of UAT test scenarios, scripts, and expected outcomes based on the non-system processes identified.
  • Ensure offline processes integrate seamlessly where automation stops.

Essential Experience
  • Experience working within an HR function (HR Ops, Recruitment, Reward, ER, Talent, or similar).
  • Proven background documenting HR processes and designing operating procedures.
  • Experience working across multiple SME groups during change or transformation programmes
  • Familiarity with HRIS concepts such as workflows, approvals, data objects, and security roles.
  • Strong documentation skills with ability to produce high-quality SOPs and process artefacts
  • Able to work with ambiguity and bring clarity to undefined processes.
  • Highly organised, able to juggle multiple workstreams and priorities.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable challenging constructively.
  • Experience supporting payroll process definition and integration touchpoints.
  • Project or programme management exposure.
Key Deliverables for This Role
  • End to end HR processes fully mapped, reviewed, and approved.
  • Clear documentation in place for processes outside of system automation.
