HR Business Partner – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover) 4 days per week, may consider 5 days
An excellent opportunity for an HR BP, 12 Month FTC in Milton Keynes with travel to Cambridgeshire 1–2 days per week.
This will suit a commercially minded HR Business Partner to join the HR team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR BP who thrives on partnering with senior leaders, driving change, and shaping people strategies that deliver real impact.
About the Role
As HR Business Partner, you’ll work closely with the HR Director and leadership teams to deliver proactive, value-added HR solutions. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, guiding managers through complex people challenges while supporting strategic business goals.
✨ Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement people plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and support complex employee relations matters, coaching managers and mentoring the ER Advisor.
  • Drive organisational design, cost-saving initiatives, TUPE transfers, redundancies, and performance improvement processes
  • Embed inclusion and engagement strategies across operational contracts
  • Build strong relationships with trade unions and ensure employee voice is represented
  • Collaborate with People Services, L&D, Recruitment, and Communications teams to deliver a cohesive HR offering.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a commercially focused organisation
  • Strong expertise in TUPE, restructures, redundancies, cost-saving initiatives, and employee relations
  • Ability to coach and mentor others, particularly in ER case management
  • Experience in reward is desirable.
  • Confident in influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator who builds trust and credibility quickly.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience preferred
  • The role is hybrid based in Milton Keynes with travel to Cambridge 1–2 days per week.
