Your new role

This HR Advisor opportunity will include providing proactive, high‑quality support across a broad range of people‑related matters within a large organisation. The role focusses on delivering an effective HR service – confident, solutions‑driven guidance to managers and staff, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and fostering a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee relations support: Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness absence cases, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
  • Policy interpretation: Guiding colleagues on the correct application of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Data and reporting: Maintaining accurate HR records, preparing reports, and using HR systems to support decision‑making.
  • Some change management support: Assisting with restructures, consultations, and organisational development initiatives.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Building strong relationships with academic and professional services teams to deliver effective HR solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong HR advisory experience preferably within a complex, multi‑disciplinary organisation.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
  • A confident communicator able to influence and support managers at all levels.
  • Analytical and detail‑focused with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Preferably CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
