HR Generalist temporary role, Bradford

HR Generalist / HR Advisor (Temporary)
Location: Bradford
Rate: £20–£25 per hour (including holiday pay)
Start: ASAP (subject to references & DBS)
Contract: Until end of academic year
Working Pattern: On‑site preferred; remote flexibility for experienced education HR professionals

Your New Organisation
A well‑established education provider in Bradford is seeking an experienced HR Generalist/HR Advisor to support the organisation during a period of significant change. This temporary role offers the chance to make an immediate impact, working closely with the HR Lead to deliver high‑quality HR services across the school/academy environment.

Your New Role

As HR Generalist/Advisor, you will play a key part in delivering day‑to‑day HR operations while also supporting project work linked to a wider organisational restructure.

Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and issuing new starter contracts, onboarding documentation and contract variations
  • Providing HR administrative support across the full employee lifecycle
  • Coordinating recruitment administration, including advertising, interview arrangements, and candidate communication
  • Carrying out pre‑employment checks (DBS, references, right‑to‑work, qualifications) and ensuring compliance with KCSIE
  • Supporting absence management, preparing reports and documentation, and advising managers on policy steps
  • Assisting with project activity such as aligning and updating job descriptions across the organisation
This is a hands‑on role where accuracy, professionalism and the ability to work at pace are essential.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within education or a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and safeguarding requirements
  • Confidence managing absence and providing first‑line HR advice
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work on‑site; remote working may be considered for candidates with significant HR education experience and a proven record of working effectively off‑site
  • Ability to start at short notice
  • Enhanced DBS and references required prior to start.
What You’ll Get in Return
  • Competitive hourly rate of £20–£25 including holiday pay
  • The opportunity to support a valued education provider through a key period of change
  • Flexible working options for high‑calibre candidates with strong sector experience
  • The chance to contribute to both operational HR and meaningful project work
