Seeking experienced HR Advisor for Public Sector client

Your new company

You’ll be joining a dynamic public sector organisation undergoing strategic transformation, with a newly established Corporate & Support Services division. This forward-thinking employer is committed to delivering excellence in people management and organisational development, and values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Your new role

As HR Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality HR and OD services across the organisation. Reporting to a senior HR Manager, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of employee relations cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, and tribunal matters. You’ll provide expert guidance to managers, support recruitment and selection processes, and contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and projects. You’ll also lead on training initiatives, maintain strong relationships with trade unions, and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in any discipline with at least 2 years’ relevant experience, or 4 years’ experience in HR advisory work.

  • Full, current professional membership of the CIPD (Associate or Chartered), or a commitment to attain Chartered status within two years.

  • Proven experience advising managers on HR matters, managing recruitment processes, and working with internal and external stakeholders, including trade unions.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and policy interpretation.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport, or suitable alternative arrangements.

  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites.

What you'll get in return

You’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive team that values your contribution and encourages professional development. The organisation offers:

  • A 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday.

  • Opportunities for flexible and hybrid working.

  • A commitment to diversity and reasonable adjustments for applicants with specific needs.

  • A chance to make a meaningful impact in a progressive public sector environment.

  • Minimum 3-month contract
