Your new role

This part‑time HR Advisor role sits within a busy and well regarded People team, providing expert support to managers and employees across a diverse and unionised workforce. You’ll act as a first point of contact for people related queries, ensuring advice is delivered promptly, accurately and in line with organisational policies. Working closely with HR Leads, Partners and Associates, you’ll support both day to day HR operations and broader people priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers across a range of people matters.
  • Managing and resolving queries efficiently, ensuring consistent and reliable guidance.
  • Providing operational HR advice, particularly around employee relations.
  • Supporting the monitoring of HR metrics and maintaining accurate data within HR information systems.
  • Collaborating with HR colleagues to deliver People initiatives across a project based, unionised environment.
  • Influencing and coaching managers in line with business priorities and best practice.
  • Working closely with the wider People team to support employee lifecycle processes and maintain high standards of service.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases, with strong understanding of processes and procedures.
  • CIPD qualification or actively working towards accreditation.
  • Competent working in a unionised, operational or project based environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and overall digital literacy.
  • Ability to interpret HR data and use HR systems confidently.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective professional relationships.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with a proactive and solutions focused approach.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to influence others.
