Your new role

As a Housing Officer, you will oversee housing and tenancy management services within a defined area of approximately 350 properties. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing lettings and allocations, ensuring efficient void turnaround.
  • Overseeing income management, including rent collection and arrears prevention.
  • Handling tenancy and estate management issues, including anti-social behaviour and safeguarding.
  • Acting as a single point of contact for residents, resolving queries promptly.
  • Supporting customer engagement initiatives and shaping services based on feedback.
This is a varied role requiring strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 2 years’ experience in social housing or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations.
  • Knowledge of housing law and current housing issues.
  • IT literacy and good numeracy skills.
  • A relevant qualification in Customer Service or Housing (desirable).
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
