Housing Officer (Social Housing) required - TEMP TO PERM OPPORTUNITIES!

We've got an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Housing Officer in the Northwich area on an ongoing, temporary basis with permanent positions available.

This is a full time, 35 hour per week role across Monday to Friday, and will require a driving licence with access to your own vehicle and valid business insurance to be able to commute to your patch a minimum of 2 x days per week.

Your new role

  • Responsible for your own allocated patch of properties, acting as a key point of contact for all customers and stakeholders in the area, ensuring the delivery of high-quality housing and tenancy management services

  • Assisting with lettings, viewings, allocations, sign-ups, voids and other tenancy management duties such as mutual exchanges, tenancy audits/reviews, inspections and health & safety compliance

  • Managing own caseloads of anti-social behaviour, nuisance and other breaches in your area, including investigating reports of ASB and implementing early interventions where appropriate to minimise future incidents

  • Taking witness statements, preparing legal casework and eviction notices where required, as well as representing the group in court where appropriate

  • Responding to general enquiries or complaints from customers, stakeholders and local MPs

  • Identifying tenants at risk of failure to implement additional support and tenancy sustainment advice

  • Facilitating various events and campaigns to encourage tenant engagement and boost satisfaction

  • Liaising with and working in partnership with contractors for communal services

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong background in a customer-facing housing and tenancy management role, with experience of managing cases of antisocial behaviour and other tenancy breaches through to resolution

  • A good knowledge and understanding of housing legislation and best practice

  • Understanding of welfare benefits and financial inclusion, working knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to to support a diverse range of customers

  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle and business insurance
