Housing Officer Temporary Glasgow

This social housing provider is a reputable housing association based in Glasgow, committed to providing quality housing solutions. The organisation are seeking a Housing Officer for a minimum of 1 month, with the potential to be extended.
With a friendly and collaborative team environment, you will be welcomed and supported as you play a key part in delivering for their tenants within the Housing Management Team.


Your new role

To deliver a broad and effective range of housing services, with a particular focus on:
  • Managing rent arrears efficiently
  • Overseeing allocations and voids
  • Maintaining estates
  • Investigating anti-social behaviour complaints
  • Supporting tenancy sustainment
This role involves close collaboration with colleagues across the Housing Services and wider Operations teams to ensure the delivery of core housing management functions and a consistently high standard of customer service.
Working as part of the Housing Services team, you will contribute to providing a high-quality housing management service to tenants and other service users.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with a Housing Association and/or Local Authority Housing Management department
  • Experience in all key aspects of Housing Management: rent arrears, void management, allocations, estate management, tenancy sustainment, and anti-social behaviour
  • Track record of working with tenant groups and promoting tenant participation
  • Experience of working in partnership with external agencies
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, specifically the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001
  • Knowledge of the Scottish Social Housing Charter and Annual Return on the Charter (ARC)
  • Understanding of current welfare reform issues
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities
  • ICT literate and proficient in MS Office and housing management software systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet personal and organisational targets
