Housing Officer required by a large Housing Association to cover a period of maternity leave

Your new company

The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large Housing Association, to recruit a Housing Officer on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

Your new role

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a range of generic frontline housing management and customer services in accordance with the Association's policies and procedures including:

Estate Management;
Allocations and Void Management;
Income Recovery / Rent Arrears Management;
Anti-Social Behaviour Case Management.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

5 GCSEs (Grades A-C to include Mathematics and English language), or equivalent and a professional housing qualification equivalent to CIH Level 4 or 3 years' relevant experience in a customer facing role in a social housing setting.

Additionally, you must have:

Experience of implementing the rules of the Housing Selection Scheme; to include tenancy management (Transfer Applications, Assignment of tenancy etc.) and allocation of properties.
Computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office programmes, including Word and Excel.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Organisational skills.
Problem solving ability.
Ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
