Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming village primary school just outside Axminster to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time role starting in September.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community for the full academic year, playing a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, deliver interventions, and provide whole-class cover when required.
The school is seeking a confident and proactive HLTA who is passionate about helping children achieve their potential and creating positive learning experiences.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across a range of primary year groups.
- Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
- Provide class cover in the absence of the teacher when required.
- Lead targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to meet the needs of all learners.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level within a primary school.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Experience leading learning activities and managing groups of pupils independently.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic approach.
- A commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential.
