Rate/Salary: Competitive

Your new company

You’ll be joining a respected tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering key highways and infrastructure schemes across the region. With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to safe, high‑quality delivery, they are seeking an experienced Construction Agent to support ongoing projects in Tebay.

Your new role

As Construction Agent, you will oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of highways and civils works on site. You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and specification.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily site operations and sequencing of works
  • Leading site briefings, inductions and toolbox talks
  • Ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits and CDM regulations
  • Coordinating with engineers, supervisors, traffic management and utilities
  • Monitoring progress, maintaining accurate site records and reporting to senior management
  • Supporting quality assurance and ensuring works meet required standards
  • Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture on site

What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current National Highways Passport
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Proven experience in highways and/or civil engineering
  • Experience with drainage, structures, earthworks or road construction
  • Experience of working with asbestos would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of site compliance, sequencing and safe delivery
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
