Your new role
Working on the largest highways project in the region involving a new 10 mile dual carriageway, they are now looking for a NEC4 Supervisor to join the delivery team. This role involves regular site visits, including driving through the construction area and walking to active work zones. You will need to navigate uneven ground, climb temporary stairways, and occasionally use ladders to access upper levels. In some cases, extensive walking may be required where vehicle access is limited.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfil all duties of Supervisor as outlined in the contract.
Review design documentation and raise queries regarding constructability, safety, and quality.
Assess Inspection and Test Plans, agree on witnessing requirements, and oversee on-site testing and commissioning, maintaining accurate records.
Identify and report any defects in accordance with contract requirements.
Verify that workmanship and materials meet specified standards.
Inspect and approve materials off-site prior to delivery.
Monitor construction progress and advise the Project Manager on risks and issues.
Prepare and submit weekly reports on progress, safety, quality, and completion status.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and audits.
Attend meetings and site inspections as required.
Promote high standards of safety and quality control throughout the project.
Assist in resolving technical issues on-site.
Represent the organisation professionally, fostering strong collaborative relationships within the delivery team.
What you'll need to succeed
NEC4 ECC Supervisor Accreditation – desirable.
Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline – preferred.
Proven experience in the design and construction of highway infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Specification for Highway Works.
Hands-on experience performing the duties of an NEC4 Supervisor.
Working knowledge of the NEC4 Contract.
