Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based high school as they are actively seeking a compassionate, skilled and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team on a full-time temporary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact by providing comprehensive 1:1 support to pupils with ASD and ADHD. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviours, supporting communication and language and assisting a select group of pupils to reach their full academic potential. This school may look to appoint the correct person on a permanent basis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions focusing on speech, language and communication development
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies that promote engagement, emotional regulation and self-confidence
  • Work closely with the class teachers, SENCO and external professionals including speech and language therapists and educational psychologists to adapt learning strategies to suit individual needs
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning plans (PLPs) and Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to pupil reviews

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, have recent relevant referenceable experience in the UK, and:

  • Hold a foundation degree or level 6 equivalent qualification
  • Be experienced in supporting pupils with ASD and/or ADHD within a primary or secondary school setting
  • Have experience delivering positive behaviour support using an emotionally regulated approach
  • Have experience supporting speech and language requirements
