Higher Level Teaching Assistant position in Walsall, starting in November

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have the dedication and empathy to make a positive impact on young learners?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Walsall is seeking a caring and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This part-time role focusses on supporting children with a range of special educational needs, helping them thrive both academically and socially.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with diverse SEN needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support pupils with classroom activities and curriculum access.
  • Encourage independence, self-confidence, and social development.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, contributing to assessment and planning.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A nurturing, adaptable, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
