Educational Teaching Assistant Role
Hays Education are excited to be working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Huddersfield, who are seeking a compassionate and skilled Educational Teaching Assistant to support pupils with visual and hearing impairments from September. This is a meaningful opportunity to empower learners and help them thrive every day.
️ About the Role
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with sensory impairments
- Adapting learning materials to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Supporting communication needs using specialist strategies or equipment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning experiences
- Supporting progress towards EHCP targets
⭐ What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting pupils with visual and/or hearing impairments
- Strong understanding of inclusive practice and differentiated learning
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
- Ability to follow specialist guidance and adapt quickly
- Recent experience in a school setting within the last 2 years
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
