I am seeking to appoint a skilled, motivated, and innovative Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead and develop a dedicated Numeracy Centre within a supportive secondary school in Sandwell. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven ability in raising attainment and building student confidence, particularly in Mathematics and Literacy.

The Role
•Work closely with teachers and leaders to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
•Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, assessing and reporting on progress.
•Build positive relationships with parents/carers, external agencies, and professionals.
•Contribute to meetings and provide constructive feedback to support student achievement.
•Play a key role in developing numeracy skills across the school.

Essential Requirements
•GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
•HLTA qualification (or willingness to obtain).
•Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with families with complex social needs.
•Experience supporting numeracy and literacy development in students.
•Experience working with primary or secondary-aged children.
•Understanding of child development and strategies for developing reading skills.
•Awareness of multi-ethnic communities and the importance of parental involvement.

•Supportive and non-judgemental when working with families and children.
•Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the role.
•Strong record-keeping skills and commitment to confidentiality.
•Commitment to personal development and willingness to undertake training.

Additional Information
•Term-time working with occasional flexibility required outside school hours.
