HGV Mechanic

Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to expand their workshop team with an experienced HGV Mechanic. You’ll be joining a supportive environment where high standards, teamwork, and professional development are genuinely valued.

Your new role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers. Working within a busy workshop, your duties will include:
  • Conducting routine servicing, MOT preparation, and scheduled maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carrying out repairs to engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, and hydraulics
  • Completing all work to DVSA standards
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures
  • Supporting breakdowns when required and contributing to a safe working environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Technician
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or significant experience)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of current DVSA standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to high‑quality workmanship
  • HGV licence is desirable but not essential
