Health & Social Care Teacher – Sickness Cover (Immediate Start)

Location: Wigan
Contract: Temporary – Sickness Cover
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive, in line with experience and Hays pay rates

Hays Education is working in partnership with a secondary school to recruit an experienced Health & Social Care Teacher to cover sickness on a temporary basis, starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable and committed teacher who can confidently deliver Health & Social Care to KS3/4 and/or KS5 and who has strong experience with assessment, moderation, and Internal Verification (IV) processes.

The Role:

Deliver engaging and well-structured Health & Social Care lessons
Assess student work in line with awarding body requirements
Contribute to or lead moderation and Internal Verification processes
Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure continuity during sickness absence

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching qualification
Proven experience teaching Health & Social Care
Strong knowledge of moderation and IV requirements
The ability to adapt quickly and provide high-quality cover
A professional, reliable, and supportive approach
