Health & Safety Manager

An established and growing multi-academy education trust is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to oversee safety compliance and strategy across multiple school sites. This is a pivotal role, supporting both existing schools and those joining the trust as part of its expansion plan.

As the trust transitions from site-level autonomy to a more centralised and professional approach to health and safety, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and embed best practice across a diverse and evolving organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of the trust-wide Health & Safety strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to school leadership teams and central staff.
  • Conduct risk assessments and site audits, and deliver H&S training.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture that supports a positive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proven experience in a health & safety role, ideally within education, public sector, or multi-site environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident in using digital tools and systems to manage H&S processes.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to change.

What’s on Offer:
  • A supportive and values-driven working environment with Buy in from a dedicated SLT.
  • A salary of £43,500 - £47,500
  • Generous employer contribution to the Local Government Pension Scheme (22.7%).
  • Free onsite parking and gym facilities.
  • Enhanced annual leave 28 days + Bank Holidays, growing to 33 after 5 years of service.
  • Opportunities for professional development and collaboration across the organisation.

This role is perfect for a candidate in a hands-on Manager/Advisor role with a good level of experience supporting management systems in a public sector organisation.
