Health and Social Care Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Contract: Temporary, from January 2026
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: January 2026

About the Role
On behalf of the school, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher to join our thriving Social Sciences Department to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 4–5, inspiring students with a passion for health, wellbeing, and social care, while supporting them to achieve their full potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to contribute to a supportive and high-achieving school community, preparing students for future careers in health, social care, and related professions.

Key Responsibilities
•Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across a range of abilities at KS4 and KS5
•Contribute to the continued success and development of the Health and Social Care curriculum
•Support pupils in developing knowledge, skills, and confidence for further study or employment in the sector
•Provide guidance and encouragement to help students understand the importance of health, wellbeing, and social responsibility
•Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including pastoral support and co-curricular activities

Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
•Holds a degree in Health and Social Care (or a closely related subject) and a recognised teaching qualification
•Has experience teaching Health and Social Care at secondary or post-16 level
•Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for supporting young people’s development
•Is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
•Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
