Health & Safety Compliance Officer | 6-Month FTC | £19.32/hour | Carmarthen | Hybrid Working | NEBOSH

Your new company

A leading emergency services organisation in Wales is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Compliance Officer to support a key compliance project across its operational and corporate estate. Working from the organisation's headquarters in Carmarthen, you will play a vital role in improving assurance, compliance and risk management arrangements across a diverse property portfolio.


Your new role

As a Health & Safety Compliance Officer, you will undertake a comprehensive review of existing health and safety risk assessments across operational, station-based, corporate and training environments across mid and west Wales. You will identify gaps, update documentation, ensure compliance with current legislation and guidance, and provide strategic recommendations to improve organisational standards.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing operational, premises, corporate and training risk assessments
  • Conducting compliance audits and gap analysis exercises

  • Updating and standardising risk assessments

  • Reviewing and delivering training requirements

  • Assessing the effectiveness of existing control measures

  • Providing regular project updates to senior stakeholders

  • Producing a final report outlining findings, risks and recommendations

  • Delivering a handover to the Health, Safety & Welfare Manager

    What you'll need to succeed
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent qualification

  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation

  • Experience undertaking risk assessments and compliance reviews

  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills

  • Ability to analyse hazards, risks and control measures

  • Strong stakeholder management and project delivery skills

  • Experience within emergency services, public sector or other high-risk operational environments would be advantageous.
