Your new role
As Head of Strategic Transformation, you will lead the delivery of a major transformation programme aligned to the organisation’s strategic goals. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a multi-year change strategy, managing complex projects from inception to benefits realisation, and ensuring robust governance and stakeholder engagement throughout.
You will work closely with senior leaders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to develop business cases, manage resources, and embed change management practices. This role also involves leading the development of the annual corporate plan, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic objectives, and driving innovation across service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading transformation programmes using PRINCE2 or equivalent methodologies.
Managing project teams, budgets, and timelines to deliver measurable outcomes.
Engaging stakeholders across the organisation and wider system to support change.
Overseeing governance, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
Driving strategic planning, performance tracking, and benefits realisation.
What you'll need to succeed
A degree or equivalent professional qualification and at least 3 years’ senior management experience in a large, complex organisation focused on continuous improvement. Alternatively, 5+ years’ senior management experience will be considered.
Proven experience in managing complex transformation programmes and projects.
PRINCE2 certification or equivalent project management qualification.
Strong leadership and influencing skills, with a track record of delivering strategic change.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
A full UK driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments will be made for applicants with disabilities).
Desirable:MSP or equivalent programme management qualification.
Knowledge of emerging trends and innovations in public sector service delivery.
