Your new company
We’re working exclusively with one of the UK’s fastest-growing online retail platforms, a tech-led business that has already made a significant mark in the e-commerce space. With a proven business model and a growing customer base, they’re scaling at pace and have ambitious plans for further expansion, both nationally and internationally.
At the heart of their success is a commitment to doing things differently: giving consumers more choice and sellers more freedom, supported by a proprietary platform that challenges the status quo of traditional marketplaces.
They are now looking for a Head of Trading Performance Analytics to join their leadership team. This is a brand-new role, offering the opportunity to transform their seller engagement model, shifting from reactive account management to proactive, data-led strategies that drive growth, competitive pricing, and deep collaboration. It's about identifying emerging trends, harnessing technology, and creating new value for customers and sellers alike.
This role is deeply rooted in data analysis and trading performance. You will be responsible for interpreting seller and marketplace data to uncover trends, identify growth opportunities, and drive strategic actions. A strong analytical mindset and proficiency in SQL and Excel
Your new role
Reporting to the CEO, with direct responsibility for a team of Account Managers, this is a pivotal leadership role within the seller function.
Our client is seeking a commercially astute leader who will take ownership of the seller engagement strategy and drive it to new heights. This is not about managing the status quo it’s about reshaping the approach, so it moves from reactive account management to proactive, insight‑driven growth.
You’ll work closely with teams across Product, Technology, Risk and Sales, making sure that seller feedback doesn’t just get heard, but actively shapes platform development. By using detailed marketplace data and trading performance analysis, you’ll spot opportunities, address challenges before they escalate, and create strategies that lead to measurable growth, sharper pricing, and stronger collaboration with sellers.
Your remit will be broad: from designing seller management frameworks and segmentation models, to streamlining processes through automation and improving operational efficiency across the board. You’ll ensure performance is monitored in real‑time and that insights are translated into clear, actionable plans. A deep understanding of seller behaviour, combined with strong analytical capability in SQL and Excel, will underpin every decision you make.
This role will have a tangible impact on the business, from increasing seller satisfaction and retention, to driving revenue growth and reducing friction points that hold sellers back. You’ll be a visible advocate for the seller community, ensuring their needs are met while aligning with the company’s commercial goals.
What you'll need to succeed
Success here will come from combining commercial instinct with a sharp analytical mind. You’ll use trading data to spot trends and link them directly to business outcomes, translating complex seller information into clear, actionable strategies. This is more than managing relationships, it’s about transforming them, moving from a reactive approach to one powered by data, process innovation, and a deep understanding of the challenges sellers face, from payments and logistics to compliance and technical integrations.
The role demands someone confident in influencing at all levels, with the credibility to work alongside senior leadership and the communication skills to bring cross‑functional teams with you.
You’ll have a proven track record of leading change, developing management frameworks, and segmenting seller portfolios to drive continual improvement. Technical fluency will serve you well, whether that’s applying AI, machine learning, or digital process automation to improve operational efficiency, or using advanced data tools to sharpen your insight.

Technical fluency will serve you well, whether that’s applying AI, machine learning, or digital process automation to improve operational efficiency, or using advanced data tools to sharpen your insight.
An analytical background, perhaps as a trading analyst, would be advantageous, as would strong skills in SQL, Excel, and visualisation software. Above all, you’ll be a strategic thinker with the drive to shape the seller journey, the curiosity to uncover growth opportunities, and the determination to see your ideas through to delivery.
