Head of Science – September Start

Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded and welcoming secondary school seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Science on a permanent basis from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Science teacher or current middle leader ready to take the next step within a supportive and ambitious school community.

The Role
As Head of Science, you will lead a dedicated department, driving high standards of teaching and learning across KS3, KS4 and KS5. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering a broad and engaging Science curriculum, supporting staff development and ensuring excellent outcomes for all pupils.
You will foster curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for Science, inspiring both students and staff within a collaborative environment.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Has experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Demonstrates strong leadership or leadership potential
  • Has a passion for Science and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
  • Can drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement
  • Shows excellent classroom management and a supportive teaching style
