Your new role
As Head of Procurement, you will lead and develop a team of Category and Sourcing Managers, setting priorities, performance expectations and annual objectives. You will oversee the delivery of strategic procurement activities across a complex portfolio, ensuring category strategies, sourcing decisions and supplier relationships align with organisational goals. This is a strategic role suited to a commercial leader who thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining complex category strategies
- Securing governance approvals and ensuring assurance requirements are met
- Leading supplier relationship management and contract management
- Driving efficiency, sustainability, value for money and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Providing expert commercial advice to procurement teams and wider departments
What you’ll need to succeed
- Extensive experience developing and delivering category management strategies
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high‑performing procurement teams
- Strong influencing and stakeholder‑engagement skills at all levels
- Commercial acumen and the ability to identify and deliver improvement opportunities
- Experience managing a varied, complex procurement portfolio
- Excellent coordination, organisation and prioritisation skills
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement
