We are looking to appoint a passionate and inspiring Head of Music to lead our thriving Arts Faculty at Longhill High School. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who not only loves music, but also values its power to bring people together, nurture confidence, and create a strong sense of belonging within a school community.

As Head of Music, you will lead the development of a vibrant and inclusive curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students of all abilities to enjoy, create, and succeed in music. You will play a key role in shaping the musical life of the school—working closely with colleagues, students, and the wider community to create memorable performances and events that celebrate creativity and togetherness.

We are proud of our supportive and welcoming culture at Longhill High School. You will be encouraged to lead in a way that reflects your own strengths and values, with the freedom to develop ideas and initiatives that inspire both students and staff. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you will be part of a team that shares ideas, supports one another, and celebrates success together.

We offer a strong induction programme and a wide range of professional development opportunities to support you in your leadership journey. Staff wellbeing is a priority for us— our wellbeing committee works closely with the Headteacher and trade union representatives to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Our staff genuinely enjoy working here and value the positive, friendly atmosphere that makes Longhill such a special place to be. We are looking for someone who will not only lead our Music department, but also contribute to the warm, inclusive community we are so proud of.
