This is an exciting opportunity to join this charitable organisation in a newly created position, which will provide an opportunity to lead a change in income growth, support engagement and the organisational profile.
This role is offered on an initial three-month contract, with the potential to go longer-term.
Your new role
As Head of Income Growth, you will sit on the Leadership Team and report directly to the CEO, acting as the organisation’s most senior leader for income generation and external engagement. You will hold full accountability for integrated fundraising, marketing and communications, ensuring these functions operate as a single, coherent system focused on sustainable income growth and measurable impact.
You will lead the development and delivery of a clear, evidence‑based income growth strategy that diversifies income streams and reduces reliance on any single source. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, trustees and external stakeholders, you will strengthen the charity’s public profile, propositions and routes to support.
Key aspects of the role include growing and energising the supporter base – donors, volunteers, ambassadors and advocates – using insight, data and performance discipline to improve return on investment and supporter lifetime value. You will manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of fundraising, marketing and communications professionals, building capability, confidence and a high‑performing culture aligned with organisational values.
You will also play a visible leadership role with the Board and its Committees, and ensure all activity meets regulatory, ethical and governance standards, safeguarding public trust and the organisation’s reputation.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will bring substantial senior‑level experience across income generation, with depth in at least two areas, such as voluntary income, marketing and communications, digital fundraising, supporter engagement or brand and proposition development.
You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering income or growth strategies that align to organisational purpose and deliver measurable results or step‑change improvement. Experience of leading and inspiring multidisciplinary teams, both through direct line management and matrix working, is essential.
You will demonstrate a strong understanding of integrated fundraising, marketing and communications models, using data, insight and performance metrics to inform decisions. You will also bring a strong grasp of UK fundraising regulation, ethical practice and governance, along with excellent strategic thinking, communication and influencing skills.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a relevant professional qualification in fundraising, marketing or communications, you will be confident operating at Board level and committed to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in ethical income generation.
