The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group HR Director, this is a senior, hands‑on HR leadership role with real breadth, ownership and influence. You will lead and manage all aspects of the HR function, playing an integral role as the business continues to grow and evolve.

While you will be responsible for delivering the strategic people plan, this role is firmly rooted in operational excellence. You will take the lead across employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, reward, learning and development, and policy implementation, whilst ensuring full compliance with employment legislation.

This role would suit a commercially minded HR leader who enjoys operating as a trusted business partner, supporting the Board and senior leaders, and working closely with managers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the HR function, ensuring high‑quality delivery across all areas of people management
  • Deliver the strategic people plan while remaining actively involved in day‑to‑day HR operations
  • Provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters, performance management and organisational change
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and managers, providing practical, solution‑focused HR support
  • Coach and develop first‑line and middle managers to strengthen people management capability and succession planning
  • Lead on talent acquisition, reward, learning and development and workforce planning
  • Develop and maintain robust HR policies and procedures aligned to business needs and legal requirements
  • Use HR data and analytics to inform decision‑making and improve organisational outcomes
  • Lead, motivate and develop a small HR team, fostering high performance and engagement

About You
  • Proven experience leading and developing a HR function, ideally within a regulated or complex professional services environment
  • CIPD qualified, with strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law
  • Confident operating at board and senior leadership level, with credibility and gravitas
  • A pragmatic, commercially focused HR professional with excellent influencing skills
  • Experienced in leading HR projects and embedding strategic initiatives across the business
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and handling complex employee relations issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting formal and legally sensitive documentation
  • Skilled in using HR metrics and analytics to drive insight and improvement
  • Self‑motivated, personable, solutions‑focused and highly organised
