Hays Senior Finance are working with a PE backed and growing manufacturing business based near Deeside, Flintshire. The company has modern premises and a growing order book. Investment to date has created a platform for continued growth over the coming years. As Head of Finance you will have existing experience in a similar environment running all aspects of a Finance function with the support of a Management Accountant and two transactional clerks.

As a qualified accountant you should be comfortable with business planning and forecasting in a manufacturing environment and have proven experience with stock control, costing and the use of an MRP system. As the company is still in its infancy it is important the Head of Finance has a strong understanding of IT and can proactively lead on implementations and upgrades as required - this means doing and not just suggesting. There is the opportunity to streamline processes and utilise MI from data warehouses for reporting and analytics.

As Head of Finance you will be fully responsible for cash flow management (forecasting, generating cash and hitting targets) as well as debt collection. You must lead from the front and ensure a no-surprise culture within the department so that solutions are provided when problems arise. The Head of Finance is a key part of the senior management team and it is important that the role holder will be based on site full-time. This could change in the future but hybrid working is not an option at this stage.
