Head of Estates & Safety | Salary: £55,000 + £5,000 car allowance

Your new company

We’re working exclusively with a national organisation delivering services across multiple UK locations. They are seeking a senior Estates & Safety leader to manage a diverse property portfolio and ensure safe, compliant, sustainable workplaces for their teams and service users.

This role blends high-level strategic ownership with hands-on operational leadership. You’ll work closely with senior figures across the organisation to drive estates strategy, oversee major works, and embed a culture of safety and compliance.

Your new role

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Estates & Safety team, promoting a positive and accountable culture
  • Drive and deliver the Estates Strategy, managing a varied property portfolio across the UK
  • Oversee capital projects, refurbishments, accessibility improvements and sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure full health & safety compliance including fire safety, risk assessments, DDA, DSE, safeguarding and statutory requirements
  • Oversee maintenance and facilities management to ensure buildings are safe, secure and fit for purpose
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, providing clear reporting to senior leadership
  • Lead contractor and supplier relationships, including procurement and contract management
  • Champion sustainability, reducing environmental impact through energy efficiency and responsible estate management
  • Work closely with L&D to embed safety awareness and deliver training packages
  • Monitor changes in legislation, ensuring robust governance and continuous compliance

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in estates management and health & safety leadership
  • Strong people management and contractor oversight experience
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice
  • Strong project management, organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • A passion for sustainability and accessible, inclusive workplaces
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, IWFM)
