Hays Education are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in North London to recruit an experienced and driven Head of Business & Economics. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a successful department within a school that values academic achievement, innovation, and progression to higher education and employment pathways.
Your new role
- Leading and managing the Business & Economics department, including line management and staff development
- Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement at GCSE and A-Level
- Designing and delivering a forward-thinking curriculum that reflects current economic and business contexts
- Monitoring progress, analysing data, and implementing effective interventions
- Promoting enrichment opportunities, including enterprise initiatives, competitions, and external partnerships
- Contributing to wider school leadership and continuous improvement priorities
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong experience teaching Business Studies and/or Economics at KS4 and KS5
- Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Department role
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for developing students’ understanding of business and economic principles
- Ability to inspire students and staff, driving a culture of high expectations
