Job Purpose
In collaboration with the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team, assist and support in the strategic management of MIS, data, staff, and student timetables, ensuring efficient and effective organisation of the Academy’s assessment, reporting, recording, and tracking systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the use of Bromcom Assessment Manager, Attendance, Profiles, and Behaviour Modules, providing day-to-day support to staff.
- Conduct staff training, including induction sessions, and create literature specific to the Academy’s use of Bromcom.
- Create and maintain the assessment database, ensuring student assessment data is accurate and complete. Collaborate with departments to develop their data collection and analysis methods, ensuring timely entry for reports.
- Analyse data in Assessment Manager and produce reports on progress, attendance, effort, and behaviour for individual students and cohorts, as outlined in the assessment calendar.
- Support senior staff in developing and providing data for analysis, working with them to regularly analyse overall academy data and the performance of “narrowing the gaps” groups.
- Establish and manage systems for tracking student progress at each key stage.
- Set up and maintain specific mark sheets in line with academy policy.
- Ensure reports are sent to parents/carers regularly, as set out in the calendar.
- Coordinate and complete the school census and other statistical Government returns.
- Manage data export, import, and distribution to relevant staff and external providers, such as local authorities, S2S data transfer, ESFA, FFT, ASP, L3VA, and GL Assessments.
- Import target-setting data from FFT, disseminate, and analyse it accordingly.
- Establish and maintain behavior management procedures and records, accomplishments, certificates, and associated reports.
- Oversee arrangements for internal and external examinations (including BTEC assessments).
- Be present and available in the Academy on days when results are notified.
- Assist in the analysis of examination results.
- Manage and carry out the DfE tables checking process for KS4 and KS5 results.
- Support the academy’s timetabler in developing and producing the Academy’s timetable.
- Prepare for the new academic year in Bromcom.
- Promote students into the new year structure, incrementing their curriculum years, and remove students from roll following all statutory procedures.
- Ensure a smooth transition from one academic year to the next within all sections of Bromcom.
- Set up and maintain registration groups, allocate student membership, tutors, and Heads of House/Heads of Year.
- Report student retention figures to SLT regularly.
- Update and apply periodic and ad-hoc changes to courses, teachers, and rooms.
- Distribute staff and student timetables.
- Ensure smooth data transfer between MIS modules, e.g., Nova T – Assessment Manager – Academic Management – Attendance Management – Applica+.
- Manage data entry into Academic Management in Bromcom.
- Establish and maintain procedures for entering and updating medical information in Bromcom and enter such information on students.
- Establish and maintain procedures for entering and updating SEND information in Bromcom, ensuring the information is kept up to date.
- Upload and manipulate student and staff data, carrying out all CTF uploads, including for pre-admission students.
- Act as the named Data Protection Lead.
