Hays are partnering with a global company to recruit a Group Financial Controller

Your new company

Hays are excited to bring to market a Group Financial Controller opportunity for a long-standing, professional services client. Based at their modern offices, which stands as one of their key international hubs for business, this is a key role in ensuring the financial management of all entities across their EMEA region.


Your new role

This role is ultimately technically focused, responsible for all financial management of legal entities across the EMEA region. Key deliverables for this role will be to ensure all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements are met across the region, whilst business partnering with other finance functions to manage liquidity, capital flows and providing technical accounting knowledge. Key elements of the role include:
  • Ensure a robust financial risk management framework is in place for the finance team, ensuring controls are in place and operating in the correct way.
  • Ensure reporting both monthly, half year and year-end reporting packs and submitted to group on time, in line with group policies.
  • Manage a team based here in the South West, guiding, developing and managing day-to-day workload
  • Manage all external audits and relationships with auditors
  • Acting as a leader across the region, taking on a senior role in the Bristol office
  • Lead and support on group wide projects, both developing processes, transformation projects or M&A activity where required.


What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a proven leader, ideally with experience in a Financial Controller capacity in a large complex business. We are looking for a strong technical accountant who will most likely be ACA qualified, although other qualifications would be considered. This role offers hybrid working, but you should be happy travelling to Bristol 3 days per week, with 2 being worked at home. In addition, you should have good interpersonal skills, managing a team and supporting in their development, but also working effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
