Group Accountant - Ipswich £50,000 to £60,000 plus benefits
Your new company
A well established and successful Suffolk-based commercial group with offices near Ipswich, Suffolk is looking to recruit a "Hands On" Accountant, to take responsibility for the accounting, reporting and general business administration for a number of its group's businesses.
This is a great opportunity where you can make this role your own, drive improvement in processes, controls and reporting, and efficiency, as well as improve insight into businesses.
Your new role
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Group Accountant will be responsible for finance for a number of its group businesses. This will include:
Overseeing the data entry of the day to day accounting for the group businesses
Intercompany accounting
Balance sheet reconciliations
Profit and Loss
Bank reconciliations
Monthly management reporting with analysis and commentary
Cashflow reporting
Budgeting and forecasting
Taxation including VAT returns, including partial exemptions and P60's
Managing the year-end and liaising with the auditors
Liaison with Bank and other professional bodies
Process improvement
Provide business partner support to the operational stakeholders and the board.
What you'll need to succeed
The Group Accountant will have broad financial and management accounting experience, they will have an eye for detail, strong IT skills, including Sage and Excel, and a keen interest in the business world.
