We are supporting a large and well-respected higher education institution in Manchester in recruiting a proactive Grounds Maintenance Operative. This long-term temporary role offers a stable working pattern, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to contribute to the safety, sustainability, and overall student experience across a busy university campus.
Your new role
- Carry out routine ground maintenance including mowing, strimming, edging, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, and planting.
- Undertake soft landscaping tasks such as turfing, mulching, and seasonal planting schemes.
- Maintain pathways, courtyards, outdoor sports areas, and communal green spaces to a high standard.
- Support with leaf collection, litter picking, and waste management.
- Safely operate and maintain ground machinery and tools (e.g., ride-on mowers, strimmers, blowers).
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or similar outdoor maintenance work.
Ability to safely operate ground maintenance machinery and equipment.
