We are supporting a large and well-respected higher education institution in Manchester in recruiting a proactive Grounds Maintenance Operative. This long-term temporary role offers a stable working pattern, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to contribute to the safety, sustainability, and overall student experience across a busy university campus.

Your new role

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will:

Carry out routine ground maintenance including mowing, strimming, edging, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, and planting.
Undertake soft landscaping tasks such as turfing, mulching, and seasonal planting schemes.
Maintain pathways, courtyards, outdoor sports areas, and communal green spaces to a high standard.
Support with leaf collection, litter picking, and waste management.
Safely operate and maintain ground machinery and tools (e.g., ride-on mowers, strimmers, blowers).

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, or similar outdoor maintenance work.
Ability to safely operate ground maintenance machinery and equipment.

Horticulture or grounds maintenance qualification
