Graduate School Technician Jobs Available in Greater Manchester
Hays Education are currently working with a number of Secondary Schools around Greater Manchester who will be requiring School Technicians to cover a variety of subjects including Science, Art and Design Technology. This work will be on a full-time temporary basis from September throughout the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, particularly those considering a future in teaching or education support.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for practical lessons
- Support teaching staff during demonstrations and practical sessions
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in classrooms and prep areas
- Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Assist with displays, exhibitions, and student projects
- Provide technical support to students during lessons
- Clean and store equipment safely after use
- Support departmental administration and resource organisation
- A degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Art & Design, Fine Art, Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Product Design)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning
- Awareness of health and safety in a school or lab environment (training can be provided)
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
