Graduate School Technician Jobs Available in Greater Manchester

Hays Education are currently working with a number of Secondary Schools around Greater Manchester who will be requiring School Technicians to cover a variety of subjects including Science, Art and Design Technology. This work will be on a full-time temporary basis from September throughout the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, particularly those considering a future in teaching or education support.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for practical lessons
  • Support teaching staff during demonstrations and practical sessions
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in classrooms and prep areas
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Assist with displays, exhibitions, and student projects
  • Provide technical support to students during lessons
  • Clean and store equipment safely after use
  • Support departmental administration and resource organisation


Key Skills/Experience:
  • A degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Art & Design, Fine Art, Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Product Design)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning
  • Awareness of health and safety in a school or lab environment (training can be provided)
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
