Graduate or Junior Electrical Design Engineer - Nottingham - £26,000 to £28,000

Your new company

I’m recruiting on behalf of a long-established building services consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering and project management solutions across the UK. The business has a proven track record in sectors such as hospitality, residential, and the public sector, and is known for its client-focused approach and commitment to excellence.
Following a recent strategic partnership, the company has expanded its service offering to include project monitoring and building surveying—creating a more comprehensive solution for clients and opening up exciting opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Your new role

As a Junior or Graduate Electrical Engineer, you’ll join a multidisciplinary design team working on a wide range of building services projects. You’ll assist in the design and specification of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, data, and security systems. The role offers hands-on experience across all project stages, with clear progression pathways and strong mentorship from senior engineers.
While the role is predominantly remote, you’ll need to travel occasionally to the Nottingham office for team collaboration and project meetings—so being within reasonable commuting distance is important.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree or HNC/D in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in electrical building services and sustainable design.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn design software.
  • Ideally, some relevant experience through internships or university projects.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or Amtech is a plus.
  • Awareness of the IET Wiring Regulations is beneficial.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car for site visits.
  • Ability to travel to the Nottingham office when required.
You’ll also need to be proactive, well-organised, and confident in communicating with others. The company values integrity, collaboration, innovation, and personal growth—so they’re looking for someone who shares those principles.

What you'll get in return

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of projects and sectors.
  • Clear progression and development opportunities.
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • The chance to contribute to meaningful, sustainable design work.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexibility to work remotely with occasional office visits.
  • A culture that values people and invests in their growth.
