Hays Marketing has an exciting opportunity for an Interim Director of Internal Events to drive a vibrant, high-impact portfolio of global events that connect, inspire with their company mission.

Based in Cambridge, you’ll report to the VP of Internal Communications and Community and lead a talented UK-based team of five, delivering standout experiences across the UK, US, India, and Europe.

What You’ll Do
  • Set and evolve their global internal event's strategy with room for AI innovation, fresh thinking, and process transformation.
  • Lead flagship events including their Engineering Conference, Graduate Conference, Global Commercial Conference, and quarterly Big Picture events.
  • Manage multi-million-pound budgets, global vendors, and high-level stakeholders.
  • Shape the full attendee journey—from creative concept to post-event impact.
What You Will Bring
  • Proven leadership in large-scale, global internal events.
  • Hands-on delivery mindset with strong commercial acumen.
  • A confident, curious, and collaborative approach.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams and complex stakeholder landscapes.
Essential criteria
  • Have a strategic and operational blend
  • Have previously worked for a global or tech organisation and have managed c5million+ USD budgets
  • Be able to bring new ideas, smarter processes, and AI-powered enhancements to how they deliver events.
  • Be able to start immediately and live within a commutable distance of Cambridge
