GIS Migration Specialist - 6Mth Contract - ASAP Start

Your new company

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking local council undergoing a major digital transformation of its Geographic Information Systems (GIS) infrastructure. The council is investing in modernising its Esri platform to ensure long-term stability, compatibility, and enhanced functionality across departments.

Your new role

As the GIS Migration Specialist, you’ll lead the technical migration of existing GIS projects, datasets, and web applications into the updated ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise environment. You’ll be responsible for converting ArcMap projects, republishing services, reconfiguring web applications, and ensuring seamless operational continuity. This hands-on role involves scripting, integration, and collaboration with GIS and IT teams to meet a critical upgrade deadline in April 2026.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro
  • Proven ability to publish and manage Map Image, Feature, and REST services
  • Strong Python (ArcPy) scripting skills for automation and validation
  • Expertise in Experience Builder and Web AppBuilder applications
  • Understanding of authentication, access control, and REST endpoints
  • Experience integrating GIS with other systems (e.g., CRM, asset management)
  • Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills
  • Prior experience in a public-sector GIS environment is highly desirable
