Geotechnical structural engineer specialising in drainage for UK infrastructure projects

A well‑established engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Building Structures team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of building projects across multiple sectors, within a supportive and collaborative professional environment.

The role

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of building structures projects for both public and private sector clients. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team and supported by experienced Chartered Engineers as you continue to develop your technical and professional skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models and specifications
  • Designing building structures in materials including steel and reinforced concrete
  • Coordinating structural design information with other technical disciplines
  • Attending and contributing to project and design meetings with clients and consultants
  • Supporting consultations with Building Control and other statutory authorities
  • Working collaboratively within a team to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions
What you’ll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design
  • Experience using structural design software
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working
  • A desire to develop technically and work towards ongoing professional development
